This course is required for individuals applying for or working in licensed childcare facilities in California. This includes family childcare home providers, daycare center staff, preschool teachers, childcare assistants, and new childcare business owners. If you are opening a daycare or becoming licensed, this training is required.

Yes. Our course is EMSA Approved and California Community Care Licensing compliant for all child care providers and center-based child care staff in California.

The course is 8 hours total. We typically split this into two 4 hour live Zoom sessions for convenience. Occasionally we hold the 8 hour course in one full day.

Yes. All classes are held live via Zoom, allowing you to complete your training conveniently from your own device.

No. The Preventive Health & Safety certificate is a one-time requirement for California childcare licensing and does not expire.

No. This is a separate licensing requirement.
CPR and First Aid certification is also required for childcare providers, but it is a different 8 hour course that must be renewed every 2 years.
Preventive Health & Safety is completed once.
CPR and First Aid combined with Preventive Health and Safety with Nutrition and Lead Poisoning Prevention fulfills the 16 hour training requirement for licensed childcare providers in California.

Rescheduling
Each student is eligible for ONE-TIME discounted reschedule opportunity of $40 off any missed course or for any rescheduled course within 2 business days of when it starts. This allows students who experience scheduling conflicts, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances to complete their training without paying the full course fee again.
Cancellations
Students who cancel at least two (2) business days prior to the scheduled course may request a refund less a $15 processing fee. This fee helps offset non-refundable payment processing and administrative costs.
Cancellations made less than two (2) business days before the scheduled course are not eligible for a refund but may qualify for a reschedule as previously outlined.
